TEAM GB U19 Appoint New Coach.

Team GB U19 have appointed Chris Orme as the Goalkeeper Coach.With the upcoming International Inline-Skaterhockey Federation (IISHF) U19 tournament being held in the UK for the first time in 16 years in 2021 at Bordon Roller Rink the Great Britain team have been looking to strengthen both the team on and off the rink.

Team GB Coach Tom Dickinson said "As the head coach for the GB U19 team our main aim has always been to improve the players skill set and understanding of the game that we are fortunate to coach. I have for many years wanted to achieve this for our selected and future/prospective goalies but have recognised this is an area of the game that I have limited knowledge within. A goalie is a major part of any team at any level and with Chris’s appointment I believe we are showing a great step towards achieving our aim and show that we value this part of the game within our team. Chris comes in with a wealth of experience of playing and coaching across the many different forms of ice and inline hockey. He has already shown me a high level of commitment, knowledge and enthusiasm that proves he is the right candidate for the role. His input at training's and guidance of our young goalies will be vital to me and the BISHA GB U19 staff and squad. At training's goalies are now no longer a means to the end of a player drill – in upcoming training's they will have more emphasis placed on them and a goalie coach who will support and improve them.

"Chris Orme said "When I heard that Tom, Scott and the team were looking for a goalie coach to be involved in the 19's GB set up, I jumped at the opportunity. I am very happy to have joined the coaching staff and am really looking forward to working with the goalies as we run up to the European Championships next year. Of course, this is made all the more special as they are being held in the UK.I am hoping that my experience will be an asset to the team and that by working together to refine technique, as well as dealing with the physical and mental aspects of the game, we can prepare these goalies for the championships and beyond"
