Job Title: BISHA IISHF Liaison Officer

British Inline Skater Hockey: British Inline Hockey was officially recognised as a UK Sport in the 1980’s and was formerly known as Street Hockey played in Inner Cities. As the sport evolved so did the International Organisation (IISHF) and since the 1990’s Team GB have competed at International Level collecting many medals at all age groups.

BISHA Board:

The New BISHA Board was formed in 2020 with the remit to ensure we have a structure & constitution in place to develop and implement strategic growth and be accountable for the execution. The new board is very diverse and committed to our historic values, but also determined to embrace new working practices, process and technology to both cultivate and excite the current and prospective membership and continually keep the BISHA Hockey community informed.

Role Purpose:

To ensure the organisation has excellent two-way communication with the IISHF as its governing body for all matters relating to strategy, rules, events, discipline, innovation and development of the sport

Responsibilities:

• Act as ambassador for BISHA and conduct all engagement with diplomacy

• Attend IISHF AGM carrying the BISHA vote and voice, ensuring all proposals are shared and discussed with the board including proposed recommendations

• Regular engagement with BISHA Marketing Team to ensure communications are interpreted and shared within the organisations appropriately via the multitude of messaging channels. British Inline Skater Hockey Association Job Profile

• Maintain excellent relationships with the BISHA Board and IISHF Officials by applying consideration to all messaging, ensuring sensitivity and relationships are maintained.

• All actions raised by BISHA/IISHF are clearly recorded and managed to ensure clarity and progression of the sport both within BISHA and Internationally

• Regular attendance and updates provided at BISHA Board Meetings

Role Purpose: 

The role of the BISHA H&S (Covid-19) Compliance Officer is to work closely with the CEO of the organisation to ensure consideration and implementation of all Health and Safety Matters for BISHA, including Covid-19 related public health measures in returning to play and supporting clubs in the process of returning to training safely with information and guidance. The role has been developed with a longer term Health and Safety element, with the initial tasks involving the current Covid-19 situation.

Responsibilities:

 • Keep updated with ongoing government, health authority and Sport England advice, update procedures accordingly and communicate with members as necessary.

 • Oversee Club appointed officers and report to the BISHA CEO and safety committee or other appointed person regularly. British Inline Skater Hockey Association Job Profile 

• Receive and review updates from BISHA club’s on all team activities and training considerations with the view to provide support and guidance 

• Carry out H&S (Covid-19) Risk Assessment for BISHA competitions and develop a Safety Plan in coordination with the BISHA CEO. 

• Develop and deliver procedures for members to return to play and training in line with government protocol. 

• Ensure BISHA is aligned with any IISHF safety regulations. 

• Ensure the sports competition facilities, complies with H&S (Covid-19) requirements, have conducted adequate risk assessments and taken adequate measures to ensure public health guidance has been upheld 

• Develop an emergency response procedure in line with government, health authority and Sport England advice/guidance to a suspected Covid-19 case.

 • Attend and in the absence of the CEO Chair the BISHA H&S / Covid-19 Safety Committee meetings. 

• Develop the role of the Health & Safety (Covid-19) compliance officer.

Job Title: Team GB Men’s Assistant Coach

Primary Locations: UK (Bordon, Cardiff, Lutterworth, Sheffield)

As the sport evolved so did the International Organisation (IISHF) and since the 1990’s Team GB have competed at International Level collecting many medals at all age groups.

Team Great Britain:

Team GB Men is made up of a Squad of 20-30 players which train regularly at the home of BISHA Hockey which is the Bordon Rink, Hampshire, other UK locations will be introduced pending the location demographic of the team. In addition to this role the management team which supports the players comprises of a Technical Director, Head Coach, Team Manager, Fitness Coach, Nutritionist.

A team of 14-19 players are selected to play at an International Event annually and the tour is usually a 5 day trip in the Autumn.

Role Purpose:

To support the Head Coach with Strategy, Team/Player Analysis (Rinkside & Digital), Squad Motivation, Training Preparation, Player Scouting, Bench Management duties and Tour Structure. The individual should also have the capability to deputise for the Head Coach due to any unforeseen circumstance.

The Assistant Coach will act within the BISHA guidelines and to follow IISHF regulation in advance and during International Events.

Responsibilities:

Training:

· Support Head Coach with preparation of each training and ensuring this is aligned to strategy. This should be based upon previously identified insights and team/player development areas

· Lead training drills with the Head Coach and to clearly articulate the format and benefit of the drill

· Structuring & Facilitation of Classroom Player Insight/Education sessions

· Work closely with Fitness Team to draw physical observations and shape fitness routines aligned to game play

· Feedback to coach on team/player performance at post training debriefs

Tournaments:

· International Team Scouting

· Tournament Rink Training Session (see Training responsibilities)

· Support Team Manager with mobility of players ensuring the players are in time with the tour itinerary

· Regular assessment of players at Team Fitness Sessions and consultancy with Fitness Team

· Contribute to pre-match briefing sessions with Head Coach

· Support match bench management… Head Coach consultation, recording of match insights, line re-structuring, hockey board presentations, shift timing, player equipment support, player motivation etc.

· Contribute to post-match briefing sessions with Head Coach

· Continuous interaction with players to offer guidance & support throughout tournament

· Act responsibly on Team GB Bench during International matches and converse with all officials throughout the tournament with a degree of diplomacy

· Attend IISHF compulsory meetings during events and act as Team GB ambassador

The ideal candidate must be professional under pressure, have strong interpersonal skills to work within Team GB Management Team, drive and focus to succeed in challenging environments. The candidate will also contribute positively to BISHA culture and have the ability to take accountability and operate under their own initiative. The candidate should also be open to embracing new sporting technology and the best coaching practices from other sports.

Essential Skills:

· Experience of managing athletes

· Excellent planning and organisational skills

· Strong written and oral communication skills,

· Exemplary leadership and man management skills

· 3+ Years Men’s Team Coaching role at Club, Regional or National level (any hockey code)

Desirable Skills/Qualifications:

· 5+ Years Inline Hockey Playing/Coaching Experience

· Thorough knowledge of BISHA Rulebook
